Workcampers! We need your email addresses!

With all the planning that goes on around here, it would be great if we had current email addresses! Please send your current email (don't comment on this post and  write your address, because everyone will see it) to our great secretary Ann Castiglione at castiglionea@archmil.org. We can keep current! Thanks - matt

WC Camp What to do for fun?

This year's workcamp will be in Bay City Michigan the week of July 29 to August 5th. The Group website describes that camp as follows:

Saginaw Bay Workcamp
Bringing hope ashore.
At Bay City’s Urban Renewal office, the staff has a backlog of needed home repairs which has been growing for years. Many elderly, widowed and disadvantaged residents are unable (or cannot afford) to do the work. Hard winters and severe spring storms have taken their toll. Projects include exterior painting, porch repair, wheelchair ramp construction, and siding replacement. Come to this traditional Michigan vacation area, where the Saginaw Bay and riverfront come alive with summer activities, water sports and recreation. Enjoy the beautiful setting and bring hope to people in need.

Nearby:
Riverwalk area, downtown shopping district, riverboat cruises, and local art festivals.

Because it is not that far (Map) what I would like to know from the veteran campers out there (St Anthony's kids should way in on this too!) is when would you like to leave on Saturday morning and what would you like to do along the way for fun? The sooner we plan this the sooner we can make it happen! Let me know -matt

God Squad

My name is Matt Hakes and I am the Director of Ministry for Children and Youth at Good Shepherd Parish, Menomonee Falls WI. I want to launch this blog as site for all Good Shepherd youth to learn what's going on, to respond to posts and to give their thoughts about their life and their life in the Church. I will be watching to make sure that appropriate language is used but, other than that, let'r rip

Welcome.

The name for this blog was inspired by the Workcamp kickball team who chose the name 'God Squad' for their entry into the local tournament.
